Footgolf is simply a combination of "Football" and "Golf".
The game is played with a regulation #5 soccer ball on a golf course with 9 or 18 shortened holes and 21-inch diameter cups.
Where did Footgolf originate?
The sport of Footgolf as we know it today (including attire, etiquette and general rules) was created in the Netherlands by Bas Korsten and Michael Jansen in 2008.
Is FootGolf a real sport?
FootGolf as a game has been played around the world since forever but, as a sport is regulated by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG) since July, 2012.
Why is FootGolf popular?
Compared to golf, footgolf is quicker to play, more accessible, and does not require expensive equipment.
How long does it take to play FootGolf?
A round of FootGolf only takes 2 - 2½ hours to complete compared to 4½ - 5 hours for a round of regular golf; the number of kicks which is 1 kick more than the par is called bogey.
